I am Chengli Wang. I work as an assistant professor in the Department of Government and Public Administration at the University of Macau. My research interests lie at the interface of experimental political science and comparative politics. My current research is mostly about information politics in authoritarian regimes, especially political rumors and fake news, digital authoritarianism, and the digital divide in developing countries.
I received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, in May 2018, an M.A. in Law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and a B.A. from Beijing Normal University of Public Administration. I taught at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics from August 2018 to July 2021.
My work has been published, or will soon appear, in Comparative Political Studies, the International Journal of Press/Politics, and International Affairs, among other peer-reviewed journals.
