Hi there!

I'm an assistant professor in the Department of Government and Public Administration at the University of Macau. 

My research interests lie at the intersection of experimental political science and political communication, with a specific focus on the effects of political rumors, information communication technology, and social paranoia on governance and public opinion. I also explore the political economy regarding how the flow and control of information influence state order and contribute to patterns of underdevelopment.

I received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, an M.A. in Law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and a B.A. in Public Administration from Beijing Normal University. I taught at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics from August 2018 to July 2021.

My research has appeared or is forthcoming in the Journal of Development Economics, Comparative Political Studies, International Journal of Press/Politics, International Affairs, Political Studies, and Journal of Chinese Political Science, among other peer-reviewed journals.
